Murray Valley Bushwalkers Inc is an exciting outdoor activity club. Our walks, either a day hike or multi-day hike, are spiced with wildflower appreciation, bird watching, waterfalls, photography and alpine historical and cultural heritage.

Terms and Conditions

By submitting a membership application, you acknowledge the following.

  • All participants, including visitors, are reminded that they join in activities as volunteers.
  • Your fitness is your responsibility.
  • Bushwalking and other activities in our program have associated risks, including but not limited to the risk of accidental injury.
  • All persons participating in any activities of the Murray Valley Bushwalkers Inc do so as volunteers in all respects, and as such, accept sole responsibility for any injury incurred, and the Murray Valley Bushwalkers Inc its office bearers and appointed leaders are absolved from any liability in respect of any injury or damage suffered, whilst engaged in any such activity.

I confirm that I will abide by the published Constitution of Murray Valley Bushwalkers Inc and follow the directions of appointed Leaders when participating in club events.

 

Acknowledgement of Risks

Before becoming a member of MVB Inc you must indicate your acceptance of this Acknowledgement of Risks statement.

In voluntarily participating in the events of MVB Inc, I am aware that my participation may expose me to hazards and risks that could lead to injury, illness or death or to loss of or damage to my property.

In particular, when participating in abseiling or above the snowline activities, I am aware that these activities expose me to additional hazards and risks.

To minimise risks, I will endeavour to ensure that;

  • Each activity is within my capabilities
  • I am carrying food, water and equipment appropriate for the activity
  • I will advise the event leader if I am taking any medication or have any physical or other limitation that might affect my participation in the activity
  • I will make every effort to remain with the rest of the party during the activity
  • I will advise the leader of any concerns I am having
  • I will comply with all reasonable instructions of club officers and the activity leader

I have read and understand these requirements. I have considered the risks before choosing to submit this Acknowledgement of Risks document and still wish to join this club. I accept that in submitting this form I will take responsibility for my own actions.
