GRADE 3
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.
Bushwalk - Day hike - What to bring
- Up-to-date ICE (In Case of Emergency) form
- Water - up to 2 litres recommended for a full day walk
- Sunscreen
- Gloves and hat
- Sufficient food bearing in mind the distance and duration of the event
- Suitable clothing and footwear. Jeans, denim and cotton pants are not suitable for hiking and can be unsafe, particularly if they become wet. Cotton absorbs water, dries slowly and can contribute to rapid heat loss in cold, windy or wet conditions. Choose quick-drying or wool/synthetic outdoor clothing instead.

- Walking poles
- Gaiters
