Car Camp Warrumbungle NT Park, Day Walks. Grade 2, 3 and 4

Meet in Peak Hill or at the Camp
Non-walkers welcome
On the 29th of May we drive to Peak Hill for the night (5 hours).

The drive to Blackman camp in Warrumbungle Nt Park takes about 2.5 hours. I have booked site numbers 26 /27 at Blackman 1 camp.

The longest walk will be the Breadknife and High Tops walk will be our longest walk at 14.5 km. Grade 4

Optional Extra Night, 4th of June. Drive to Wellington 2.5hours. Shop and restock for weekend if you are registering for the Weddin Mountains car camp or just don't want to drive all the way home in one day. We will be staying at the Wellington caves. GRADE 2
No bushwalking experience required. The track has a hardened or compacted surface that may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps.
GRADE 3
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. The track may have short, steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.
GRADE 4
Bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may be long, rough and very steep. Directional signage may be limited.

Car Camping - What to bring
- In Case of Emergency (ICE) form
- Water - up to 2 litres recommended for a full day walk
- Sunscreen
- Gloves and hat
- Suitable clothing and footwear - note denim pants are uncomfortable
- Wet weather waterproofs, jacket and pants
- Down jacket
- Walking poles
- Gaiters
- Basic first aid kit, including your specific medication eg asthma inhaler
- Torch or headlamp for contingencies
- Tent (sharing sections of the tent is an option)
- Sleeping Bag
- Bag Liner
- Mattress
- Pillow
- Thermals - top and bottom
- Second layer - top and bottom
- Dry socks
- Toothbrush and paste
- Any medication ( please inform leader if necessary Allergies etc)
- Personal first aid
- Water to drink and prepare the meal ( some locations and walks have water on site or en route )
- A leader should inform the group re: water supply
- Tablets for water ( be safe rather than get a bug ) ( water purification tablets )
- Dehydrated food for weight considerations
- 3 Meals, plus snacks. per day.
- Stove (another item that can be shared)
- Plate and cutlery
- Cup
- Fully charged and credit loaded up phone
- Camera
- Toilet paper and a trowel to dig an appropriate hole.
