Please note, to participate in this walk you must have done a grade 3 overnight walk with the MVB club.

This event is capped at 10. Please contact the leader if you wish to be included on a waiting list.

This walk is dedicated to Terry Garner who passed away earlier this year. Terry would have been with us on this walk.

Meeting in Corryong at 10.30 am. The address will be on the MVB Chat when the time comes.

We should arrive at Round Mt around midday to drop the hikers off.

Drop cars off in Kiandra at approx 1.30pm, drive one car back to Round Mt. The drivers should be at that by 4pm.

Hikers get dropped off and make their way to Round Mt Hut for tonight's camp. 1.9km.  There is a water source at the Hut. To be on the safe side, take enough water from the car for dinner and breakfast.

We can fill up the next day at the Tumut River Crossing. All other huts will have water, except Broken Dam Hut.

Day 2: Round Mt Hut to O'Keefes Hut, 13km. We cross the Tumut River, bring water crossing shoes.

Day3: O'Keefes Hut to Mackeys Hut,9.5km

Day 4: Mackeys Hut to Brooks Hut 14km, some creek crossings along the way.

Day 5: Brooks Hut to Happys Hut,9.7km

Day 6: Happy Hut to Broken Dam Hut,14.6km. It may be shorter. On my app there is a shortcut mentioned that would cut off some 6 km. We will have to wait and see.

A trickle of water can usually be found in the creek below Broken Dam Hut, but it is unreliable and untreated, so you must carry sufficient water for your stay or be prepared to treat any water you find.

Day 7: Broken Dam Hut to 4 mile Hut, 8km.

Day 8: 4 Mile Hut to Kiandra 7.5 km.

Bring Water Crossing Shoes.

For the first night at the round Mt hut, we can bring a non-dehydrated gourmet dinner and brekky since it is under 2 km to walk. How good is this?
