The Rock (Kengal)- Indigenous Cultural Experience & Yerong Walking Track

Location: The Rock Nature Reserve- Kengal Aboriginal Place, Lockhart-the Rock Rd
The Rock NSW 2655l

Time: 10:00am

Join Mark Saddler, a proud Wiradjuri man and founder of Bundyi Cultural Tours, for a cultural experience at The Rock Nature Reserve -Kengal for approximately 2 hours. Mark has taken time out of his busy schedule and offered to provide this experience at a reduced cost to our club. The total cost will be $390.00 divided by those who wish to attend (for example: $390/10 members= $39ech). A $20.00 deposit is required to hold your place, with details provided in your registration email.

This will be an all-day event which will include a cultural experience and the option of the Yerong walk to the Rock:

Yerong Walking Track to the Rock.  Approx 6km return 3 hrs+ Grade 3

The Yerong Track, at The Rock Nature Reserve, is a scenic hike along the Yerong walking track. It is a 6 km return trail with a solid 334 m elevation gain. The track climbs steadily up the slopes of The Rock and offers a moderately challenging hike which rewards your efforts with sweeping views over the surrounding bushland and farmland.

This is a short but steep route that requires a good level of fitness. Near the summit, expect some rocky and uneven sections that involve light scrambling—nothing technical, but enough to keep things interesting. Solid hiking shoes and sure footing are essential.

***Bring your own lunch, snacks and water for the day. Carpooling will be arranged for those who wish to do so. The scheduled walk and cultural experiences are subject to change or cancellation depending on suitable weather. I do appreciate your understanding and will prioritise safety and enjoyment for all.
